About Client
Luxcity Hotel & Apartment is an international 4-star hotel brand located in the heart of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. With a modern 25-story building and 166 accommodation units, Luxcity positions itself as a dynamic, upscale destination. From the launch, the hotel has operated under international service standards, aiming to become a top choice for both leisure travelers and business guests visiting the capital.
About Project
The hospitality branding launch was not merely an operational opening; it was a strategic initiative to assert Luxcity’s market position. As a large-scale hotel offering a wide range of premium services – from accommodations and conferences to F&B and leisure amenities – Luxcity required a comprehensive media package. This content needed to be extensive enough to support branding and sales activities, while maintaining the high visual quality expected for a premium hotel.
Choosing the right media production partner was therefore critical. Helius Media was honored to be selected to lead this strategic hospitality branding project – a decision made at a regional level, highlighting the requirement for a partner capable of meeting international standards beyond just Cambodia.
Creative Direction
From briefing to insight research, Helius Media conducted an in-depth analysis of Luxcity’s target audience: European and US guests. The media content had to meet international standards while reflecting the essence of Western Luxury – elegant, sophisticated, and modern.
Serving both business groups and individual leisure travelers, Luxcity faced a challenge in defining its communication focus. Helius Media proposed the “Couple Business” concept: a story following a Western business couple staying at the hotel, balancing professional engagements with personal leisure experiences.
From attending conferences and partner events in a luxurious penthouse to enjoying private moments – dining, swimming in the infinity pool, and a romantic honeymoon setup – all were captured through lifestyle photography and a commercial video. The concept addressed all insights and was enthusiastically embraced by the hotel’s marketing team.
Implementation
Helius Media developed detailed scripts, storyboards, and moodboards for each scene. Wardrobe, color tone, and lighting were meticulously planned to deliver a premium vibe aligned with the hotel’s brand image.
In hospitality marketing, the trend aligns with travel and lifestyle content: MV-style commercial videos with EDM music, where imagery and sound evoke emotions rather than relying on voiceover or text. Helius Media applied this trend to create a commercial MV for Luxcity, delivering a fresh and modern approach to hotel video marketing.
The team spent one week on-site in Phnom Penh, covering:
Hotel architectural photography
Lifestyle and F&B photography
Commercial video production with international models
Additional city footage to enrich media assets
Results
The media produced has been widely used in Luxcity’s marketing, from the official website and social media to international OTA platforms like Booking, Agoda, Tripadvisor and Traveloka. Most of the hotel’s current online imagery still originates from this project.
These professional photos and videos have not only helped establish Luxcity’s brand identity during its launch but also serve as enduring marketing assets, enhancing appeal and building trust with international guests.
