THE FUTURE OF MARITIME TECHNOLOGY
About VARD
Armada Series: A New Generation of Ocean Exploration Vessels
Commissioned by Ocean Infinity, a global leader in marine salvage and ocean science, VARD has designed and built the Armada series — a next-generation fleet of remotely operated, low-emission robotic vessels. These ships mark a major leap toward automation and carbon-neutral maritime solutions.
The first 78-meter Armada vessel was successfully launched in Vietnam, becoming the inaugural ship in a planned fleet of 23 units. This milestone reaffirms VARD’s commitment to innovation and its pioneering role in shaping a new era of sustainable ocean exploration.
The Media Project: Capturing the Offshore Trial Voyage
Before delivery, VARD carried out a multi-day sea trial to directly test the vessel’s performance offshore. This was also an opportunity for Helius Media to accompany and document the entire process — turning a technical inspection into a visually compelling and emotionally engaging story.
Despite strong winds and the challenges of operating drones at sea, the Helius Media team worked closely with the captain and crew to capture remarkable footage. The imagery of the vessel powerfully cutting through the waves not only highlights VARD’s shipbuilding excellence but also reflects the pioneering spirit of the Armada series.
Conclusion
The Armada sea trial media project with VARD not only provided high-quality, professional maritime communication materials but also conveyed strong inspiration for innovation in the shipping industry. For Helius Media, this was also a valuable experience working alongside an international team of engineers and crew members throughout the quality inspection journey.
Not only with global brands like VARD, but in every project, we strive to deliver media solutions that balance technical excellence with brand depth — ensuring that each piece of content is not only visually striking but also authentically conveys the spirit and values of our clients’ brands.
